What sermorelin is
Sermorelin is the synthetic 29-amino-acid N-terminal fragment of human growth hormone-releasing hormone, often written GRF(1-29). This fragment retains the receptor-binding region responsible for GHRH activity, which is why it functions as a GHRH-receptor agonist despite being shorter than the native 44-residue hormone.
Because it acts on the pituitary rather than replacing growth hormone, sermorelin's measurable effect in research settings is a stimulated GH response — the size of which depends on pituitary responsiveness in the model or population being studied.
