What AHK-Cu is

AHK-Cu is the copper(II) complex of the tripeptide alanine-histidine-lysine. Like GHK-Cu (glycine-histidine-lysine), it binds copper through its histidine and amino-terminal groups.

Because the two complexes differ by a single residue, AHK-Cu is often examined alongside GHK-Cu in comparative copper-peptide work.

Published research

The best-known study examined AHK-Cu on cultured human dermal papilla cells and isolated hair follicles in vitro. Evidence beyond cell and organ-culture models is limited, and AHK-Cu is not an approved medicine.

Laboratory handling considerations

Copper-peptide complexes are typically blue. Keep vials sealed and cold, avoid strong chelators or reducing agents in buffers unless intended, aliquot, and log the lot number.

Research-use-only scope

This monograph summarizes published scientific literature for educational and reference purposes only. It is not medical, veterinary, clinical, or dosing guidance, and nothing here should be read as a claim that this compound is safe, effective, or approved for use in humans or animals.

Material supplied by North Summit Labs is intended strictly for in-vitro laboratory research by qualified professionals. It is not a drug, supplement, food, cosmetic, or medical device, and it is not for human or animal consumption. Investigators are responsible for complying with their own institutional oversight, biosafety, and legal requirements.

Frequently asked questions

How is AHK-Cu different from GHK-Cu?

AHK-Cu has alanine where GHK-Cu has glycine. Both are copper tripeptide complexes; GHK-Cu has a much larger published literature.

How is AHK-Cu research material supplied?

As a 100mg lyophilized powder in a sealed, lot-labeled vial with a published lot COA, for in-vitro laboratory research only.
