Sourcing
Materials sold by North Summit Labs are sourced for laboratory research use only. Every batch is subject to independent third-party analytical testing before it is offered for sale.
Independent Third-Party Analytical Testing
Each batch we list is tested by an outside analytical laboratory rather than in-house, so purity and identity results are generated independently of North Summit Labs. Testing methods vary by compound and lab and may include identity confirmation (e.g., MALDI-MS or qualitative ID), purity determination by RP-HPLC, and content/quantitation assays. See our COA library for the specific labs and methods used for each product currently listed.
What HPLC Purity Results Mean
High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) separates the components of a sample so a lab can estimate what percentage of the material is the target compound versus impurities or degradation products. A reported purity of, for example, 99.8% means the lab's chromatographic analysis found approximately 99.8% of the detected peak area corresponds to the target compound under that lab's test conditions. It is a lab-reported analytical result, not a guarantee, and results can vary between testing methods, instruments, and laboratories.
Lot & Batch Documentation
Certificates of Analysis (COAs) in our library are tied to specific lot numbers and list the product, strength, lot number, purity, content, molecular weight, sample received/issued dates, testing lab, methods used, and result summary reported by that lab. Vial labels reference the applicable batch information.
Requesting a COA for Your Lot

Limitations of Lab Reports
A COA reflects the results obtained by a specific lab, using specific methods, on a specific sample from a specific lot at a point in time. It does not certify fitness for any particular purpose, is not a substitute for your own institution's incoming quality checks, and does not constitute a claim of accreditation by North Summit Labs itself. We do not claim any accreditation status on behalf of the laboratories that perform this analysis; the issuing laboratory is identified on each certificate so you can evaluate it directly.
